What Is Pipe Lining?
A pipe system is essential to every household. It facilitates the flow of drinking potable water or dispose of the liquid waste from your sink and comfort room. Now, they are not entirely invulnerable to any damage and may need maintenance as they age. Replacing embedded pipes can be troublesome and can disrupt your property; not to mention the process could take a lot of time and manpower.
Pipe lining is a process of repairing your pipe without pulling out the old damaged ones. It’s a non-destructive technique as you don’t have to dig out the damaged pipes just to replace them.
How Does Pipe Relining Work?
Pipe relining is done by slipping in an uncured or liquid piping material to the damaged pipe. This process unfolds while the old pipe is not removed from its original position.
How do you Reline a Drain Pipe?
Prior to the pipe relining process, an assessment of the extent of pipe damages will be done by our skilled team. Through a camera insertion, we will be able to monitor the length of the pipe which needs to be relined. We’ll clean out any clogs that might have slipped in. Then, our plumbers will insert a bladder containing the liquid piping material. We use epoxy-resin as they are durable and can be mold to a wide range of shapes; in this case as a new pipe. Once the bladder is positioned inside the old pipe, the bladder is flipped inside out so the liquid epoxy-resin will touch the inner surface of the old pipe. Compressed air is then blown inside the bladder inflating it and pushing the epoxy-resin to the pipe’s inner wall. The epoxy-resin is then cured and dried by removing all the moisture.
How Long Does Pipe Relining Last?
Because we use a liquid material on the initial stage of the pipe relining, we can assure all leaks are plugged in once the piping material is cured. Also, the material is more durable than regular PVC and has a far greater lifespan.
What Types of Pipe Can Be Relined?
The types of pipes that can be relined are: earthenware, HDPE and PVC. Liquid piping material is used due to its versatility in most plumbing problems.
Is the Pipe Relining a Temporary Fix?
At Killara Plumbing, pipe relining is guaranteed to permanently fix problematic pipes. It is an efficient solution that uses reliable and durable materials proven to withstand for decades.
How Much Does Pipe Relining Cost?
Pipe relining costs vary depending on a variety of factors, such as the size, location and condition of the damaged pipe. Email us or give us a call for a quote.
What Are The Benefits of Pipe Relining?
With the availability of modern technology, pipe relining is the best choice for our clients for the following reasons:
- Minimal disturbance compared to the traditional removal of old pipes
- Prevent root infestation from penetrating pipes
- Durable, cost-effective and lasts for a long time
- A much faster and easier process
Is Pipe Relining a Long Term Solution?
Yes. Pipe relining guarantees a longer life expectancy and a more durable pipe system. It is not just a band-aid solution but a permanent fix to your plumbing problems.
How can I Tell If My Pipes Have a Problem?
From a terrible smell to gurgling noises, you’ll learn that early pipe assessment needs to be done promptly to avoid further issues. You also need to watch out for water bill spikes, overflowing toilets and wet spots in your home as these are clear indicators of damaged pipes.
